Gusto Manchester Serve Up a Manchester Martini

April 28, 2015

Fan of Vimto, vodka, Gusto Manchester AND raising money for us? We’ve got just the thing…

Gusto Manchester will be serving up a delicious Manchester Martini, inspired by Vimto to tantalise the tastebuds throughout May and it’s raising money for us!

The cocktail, which is inspired by our Manc roots will cost £7.50 with £1 from every cocktail sold throughout May coming straight to us.

Our excellent judging panel consisted of Ambassador and Bitten Magazine Publisher, Helen Ramsbottom, Deputy Editor of Manchester Confidential, David Blake and bartending pro and Living Ventures representative Colin Knott. The three judges tasted five different cocktails on Monday 27th April to decide which would be the final FM Cocktail.

The judges tasted cocktails inspired by different Manchester flavours, including Manchester tart, Vimto, Eccles cakes, Boddingtons and honey, based on the busy Manchester bees before finally deciding on the Vimtini.

The Vimtini is inspired by Manchester’s favourite fruity flavour, Vimto and is made up of Plymouth gin, Plymouth sloe gin, Chambord, apple juice, vanilla syrup and grapes alongside a grape garnish.

Cocktail mixologists Hayley and Monty from Gusto Manchester went head to head, both creating a few cocktails each for our judges to taste and decide which was the favourite. Hayley came out the winner, after creating the excellent Vimtini, which we can’t wait for you to try.

Tuesday 28th April will see a soft launch of the cocktail, and we look forward to showing it off to Manchester’s cocktail connoisseurs to try and taste. If you’d like to try the cocktail, head to Gusto Manchester, just off Deansgate in the city centre throughout the whole of May and order yourself a Vimtini, or five. Lets call it your charity work for the month!
