Golf Day Raises £2k

May 15, 2015

Thursday 14th May saw our annual golf day, which was a huge success raising £2,000.

The winners on the day were Arighi Bianchi, a luxury furniture company based in Macclesfield.

Second place went to The Heroes Project. The Heroes Project are a not for profit organisation who help and support people with learning disabilities and give them great opportunities like club nights, slots for radio shows live on Internet radio and more. It’s also ran by our Ambassador, Terry Snowden.

Third place went to Baker Tilly aka ‘The Fabulous Baker Boys’. Baker Tilly are long standing supporters of Forever Manchester’s, donating £10,000 to our cause a few years ago.

Other companies taking part were Acrobat FCSM who Forever Manchester supporter Adrian Stores works for. Adrian was the person behind our ticketing sponsor for our 25th Birthday UMIP, as he’s a consultant for them.

Havas Lynx also took part who sponsored the photobooth at our 25th Birthday and also designed the brilliant bespoke Tony Walsh posters and booklets sold at our Evening with Tony Walsh on 29th April.

UHY Hacker Young Manchester also took part on the day, who are one of our newest supporters and friends of organiser and Ambassador Alan Townley.

The golfers were invited around the course before enjoying a delicious lunch including sandwiches, chicken wings and quiche. Raffle prizes on the day included bowling for 4 followed by food and drink at All Star Lanes, a meal for two at Lucha Libra, a meal for two at Croma and a stunning photo print from Paul Grogan of the Beetham Tower.

Huge thank you goes to Alan, who ensured all of the companies got involved and helped us to raise £2,000 to support community groups and projects across Greater Manchester.

Thanks also goes to our two volunteers on the day, Ambassador Charlotte Brinsley and her friend Lowri.

The day almost went without a hitch, before our Events and Volunteers Officer Cheryl Hill crashed a buggy carrying herself and Alan into a bush. Other than that, all went very well, as can bee seen in the tweets below:
