We welcome Lyndsey Ashworth to the team as our new Community Building Support Worker.

We met Lyndsey 12 months ago through our community building work in Oldham and, in that time, Lyndsey has displayed natural community building talents.

Lyndsey completed our five day Women in Neighbourhood Community Building training and, by utilising our Cash 4 Graft award, has set up ‘Laffs and Crafts’ – a Saturday morning club for families in her local community. Lyndsey is going from strength to strength and is launching a ‘Knit and Natter’ on 13th May.

As a founding member of the Alt Community Challenge Team, Lyndsey has been working closely with Forever Manchester, First Choice Homes and her local community to develop a ‘Green Route to School.’ As part of the StandGuide course through the Job Centre she learned basic back to work skills such as CV writing and interviewing techniques followed by a four week work experience placement here at  Forever Manchester.

The experience of working alongside Forever Manchester’s community builders gave Lyndsey the inspiration to seek further opportunities to become a community builder and she will now be working alongside our experienced Community Building Team to further her development in the field.

Lyndsey comments, “I’m really excited about joining the Forever Manchester team. The experience I’ve already gained has had a massive impact on my life. I can’t wait to start working closely with residents in Oldham and Trafford.”
