Wednesday 30th November saw our inaugural FM Live at Hard Rock Cafe, sponsored by Opus 4. We’re pleased to announce that the night raised an incredible £1,400!

We showcased the talents of local poet Tony Walsh, musician James Holt (with his full band) and comedian Hayley Ellis to nearly a hundred Forever Manchester supporters.

The evening started with some laughs thanks to Hayley Ellis. A regular MC at gigs around the county, Hayley’s natural warmth and charm made her impossible to dislike, something which has become evident in her success in new act competitions throughout the UK.

James Holt then took to the stage with his band. It was easy to see how James comes recommended by the likes of Brian Eno, KCRW, BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6music. Ambassador Terry Snowden tweeted on the night that James Holt’s band was “easily the best band I’ve seen this year by a long way!”

Finally our Poet in Residence, Tony Walsh, performed three fantastic poems. His ‘Silver Sparks’ poem, written about Greater Manchester and Forever Manchester’s role within it, was met with comments that it “never fails to inspire”.

A huge thank you goes to Opus 4 for sponsoring the event – it was truly an unrivalled night for a heady mix of pure talent and celebration of Greater Manchester. All proceeds from the event will now help us to support community activity across Greater Manchester.
