This Remembrance Day we would like to recognise Greater Mancunians who are currently or have served in battle.
Many community groups across the region commemorated the 100 year anniversary of World War 1 in July by hosting events to bring their communities together and recognise the sacrifice given by men and women across Greater Manchester throughout the Great War.
We recently provided essential funding to the Standish British Royal Legion, enabling those in need through age, disability or illness to attend the Festival of Remembrance at The Royal Albert Hall to commemorate the start of WWI. Attendees included WW2 veterans and relatives of veterans from both World Wars.
Another group we funded was the Lower Kersal Young People’s Group, who put on an informative and entertaining evening at their local church which can be seen in the video below.
