Since July 2015 we’ve been running a pilot of the new initiative which we hope will see Forever Manchester reaching even more people in communities across the region and it’s now time to launch.
On Tuesday 29th March we will be launching our new Community Ambassadors initiative with a FREE event at The Park Inn Hotel in Manchester.
The first 10 Ambassadors have already done some great work, Tommy Mcdonagh in Moston has raised £800 for us. In Trafford, Jennie Wadsworth, Denise Hitchen and Lisa Heanley helped to organise and promote our first connecting communities workshop and Sylvia Billington and Lydia Fernandez-Arias have put us in touch with even more groups who we can support.
The Ambassadors have also benefited by increasing their networks and links with us here at FM as well as being invited to our Annual Birthday Bash in February , where a good time was had by all. Rob Lees from MaD Theatre Company brought his theatre group down to the event to perform for guests and Krishna Patel won our coveted Captain Manchester Award!
At the Community Ambassadors Open Day we are looking for people with a passion for where they live in the communities of Greater Manchester. People who see the strengths and good things that happen every day in local places and a person that sees the potential for communities to fix their own problems and decide their own future. Community Ambassadors will act as our eyes and ears in their neighbourhood spreading the word about Forever Manchester and connecting even more people with what we do.
This free event will be an opportunity for people from across the communities of Greater Manchester to come together and sign up to become a Forever Manchester Community Ambassador.
