About the Fund
Brother UK is a subsidiary of Brother Group – the global electronics and manufacturing company. They provide sales, marketing, technical support, warehousing and distribution from their base in Tameside.
The Brother UK Fund has been established to enhance and support Brother UK’s “At Your Side” policy, corporate responsibility statement and social engagement strategy to deliver benefit and impact in Tameside communities where 60-70% of their staff live.
Applications will be accepted from grassroots community groups based and delivering activities in Tameside.
Who can apply?
The Brother UK Fund’s current priority is to encourage and support grassroots community activity. This means small, community-based and locally controlled groups that manage themselves, encourage active participation from volunteers and have minimal cash reserves and limited access to funding support.
The Brother UK Fund will welcome applications from groups across Tameside. Applications are accepted for all types of project and activity, we just want to hear what you want to do and how it supports your community.
We do like to see applications from groups who support the themes of enterprise, the arts and life skills and if the fund is oversubscribed we may prioritise groups working in these areas. For further information on whether your project falls under these themes please contact a member of the communities team.
Annual income of groups applying to the Fund should be less than £150,000.
Please note the Fund doesn’t support applications from sports groups and clubs at this point in time.
How much can you apply for?
The maximum award request that will be considered is £2,000
Is there anything we can’t apply for?
Unfortunately, there are a few things that can’t be funded, such as activities that have already taken place or been paid for, contributions to major appeals, activities promoting political or religious beliefs and activity which should be provided by statutory services. If you’re not sure if we could consider you application for funding, please contact a member of the Forever Manchester Communities Team and we’ll be happy to help, 0161 214 0940 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
