Our annual Birthday Party, kindly sponsored by Express Solicitors, will celebrate another great year of supporting community activity across Greater Manchester. The event brings together over 400 passionate and dedicated Forever Manchester supporters to celebrate another great year of helping local people do extraordinary things together.
BIRTHDAY PARTY PERFORMER – STRICTLY WHEELS
Gary and Paula started wheelchair dancing in 2010. Paula had never danced before in her life.
In 2011, after only six months of dancing, they entered their first international competition in Holland and beat couples from over eight countries to win the title of Amateur Combi Latin Champions. They remained undefeated Amateur Combi Latin Champions for three years and are now the UK’s only Top-Level Para Dance Sport couple competing at International Paralympic competitions for Team GB. Despite having no official trainer for two years, they finished 9th in Europe in Combi Latin in 2016, and are currently ranked 10th in the world for Showdance in the IPC Rankings.
They are most known publicly as Strictly Wheels, and for their appearance on Britain’s Got Talent in 2012 where they wowed the judges with their audition getting four ‘yeses’ and going through to appear in the live semi-finals in front of 12 million viewers.
In 2016, with funding from Forever Manchester, they set up their own charity, Strictly Wheels Foundation, to promote wheelchair dance as a physical activity to improve the lives of both wheelchair users and able-bodied alike and to support upcoming dancers. They host free weekly classes in Manchester teaching dancers socially for fun and at competitive level.

Guests at the Forever Manchester Birthday Party will be treated to a welcome drink on arrival, three-course meal, entertainment from community groups Forever Manchester has funded, an awards ceremony and a special guest DJ.

Tickets for the Birthday Party are priced at £85 per person with tables of 10 being £800 if booked before 1st November 2017 (£850 per table thereafter).
