We’re thrilled to announce that award-winning TV and Radio Presenter, Terry Christian, will compere our Birthday Party at The Palace Hotel on Friday 10th February 2017.
The Forever Manchester Birthday Party, sponsored by Express Solicitors, will bring together over 400 passionate and dedicated Forever Manchester supporters to celebrate another great year of helping local people do extraordinary things together.
COMPERE – TERRY CHRISTIAN
Terry Christian was born and raised in Old Trafford. He is perhaps best known in Manchester for presenting the 6-9pm slot on Piccadilly/KEY 103 from 1988, writing a page in the Manchester Evening News every Friday called The Word and presenting a Channel 4 show of the same name.
His radio show became a showcase for the latest wave of new talent in Manchester such as The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Inspiral Carpets, 808 State, A Guy Called and The Charlatans, and it was from here that Terry then went on to present and format The Word.
The first episode of The Word appeared on TV screens on August 17th 1990 and for the next five years became the most controversial and talked about show on British television.
We’re looking forward to him welcoming our guests, introducing our fantastic community group performances and hosting our awards on the night.
He’ll join fellow radio presenters Tim Cocker and Producer Jim Salveson (pictured) as past Forever Manchester Birthday comperes.

Guests at our Birthday Party will be treated to a welcome drink on arrival, three-course meal, entertainment from community groups Forever Manchester has funded, an awards ceremony and a special guest DJ.

All proceeds from ticket sales will be reinvested in communities across Greater Manchester.
